The drip of revelations about the FBI’s conduct during the Trump and Biden years has become a flood — and the latest disclosure may be the most damning yet.
FBI agents recently uncovered the opening memo and case files for a secret investigation codenamed “Round River.” The operation, run out of the FBI’s Pittsburgh field office, appears to have been designed for one purpose: to obstruct the very investigation that Attorney General William Barr had authorized into evidence of Biden family corruption.
What Barr Ordered — and What the FBI Did Instead
In 2020, AG Barr tasked Scott Brady, the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, with vetting evidence related to the Biden family’s dealings in Ukraine. Brady and his team were given access to run searches through FBI databases for relevant information. It was a legitimate investigative effort, authorized at the highest levels of the Justice Department.
What Brady didn’t know — what he couldn’t have known — was that the FBI was simultaneously running Operation Round River to undercut his work. The operation was hidden using the bureau’s sub-file system, which as Senator Chuck Grassley has previously revealed, allows the FBI to effectively bury documents where investigators can’t find them.
Brady has confirmed that he had no idea Round River existed while he was conducting his investigation. His team was searching FBI databases for evidence of Biden corruption while, unbeknownst to them, another arm of the bureau was actively working to ensure they wouldn’t find what they were looking for.
It Gets Worse
According to sources cited in the reporting, the conspiracy may have extended far beyond just shielding the Biden family. The same FBI personnel connected to Round River may have also been involved in pressuring social media companies to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story — the now-verified reporting that was labeled “Russian disinformation” in the weeks before the 2020 election.
If that connection is confirmed, it would mean a single network of FBI officials was simultaneously undermining a federal investigation into Biden corruption, hiding evidence from a U.S. attorney, and orchestrating a censorship campaign against legitimate journalism — all to protect a political candidate in the middle of a presidential race.
The Reckoning
The scandal has shifted. It’s no longer primarily about what the Biden family did or didn’t do in Ukraine. It’s about what FBI agents and DOJ employees did to prevent the American public from learning the truth.
Under FBI Director Kash Patel, the bureau has begun to surface these buried operations. The question now is whether accountability will follow disclosure — or whether the deep state’s self-protective instincts will once again prove stronger than the public’s right to know what its government has been doing in the shadows.
Americans deserve answers. And the agents behind Round River deserve subpoenas.
